After studying medical engineering with a focus on medical image processing, Katharina Merkel completed a master's degree in computer technology. Since 2017 she is part of the IDS team.
Her career began in the machine vision consulting team with a focus on camera technology. Since 2018, she has been supporting customers with questions about HALCON, conducting feasibility studies and developing customer-specific solutions. Katharina Merkel is currently the first contact person for HALCON Deep Learning at IDS.
